When someone is looking to compare MA Medicare plans there are some things to consider. Massachusetts first of all the biggest difference is the way the Medigap plans are named. You do not have the traditional letter system most other states use. You have core, supplement 1 and supplement 1A. As far as advantage plans go you can expect to see the big-name carriers, but you also have many regional carriers. Being familiar with what is available in your county and how networks work is important. Say you're in the northern I90 corridor, you may not have the same options someone in the greater Boston area told you about. Medicare plan options are available by county and with 14 counties it's a good idea to make sure that plan you heard about is available.
